New guy in Alaska
Greetings! I'm fairly new to riding and all my experience so far is in southcentral Alaska. My bike since 2009 is a 1984 Kawasaki 550 LTD, but I have dibs on a 2006 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 Classic Anniversary with 4500 miles that I hope to buy in two weeks. I'll still have to wait for snow and ice to melt off the roads here, which could be anytime between late April and early June. I enjoy riding to commute to work and going on longer rides with friends.

Welcome Roy! I get out your way for three weeks each year thanks to the USAF-R . . . I generally rent a dual sport bike out of Anchorage and ride for one weekend . . . Great roads up your way - Have been on the Dalton Hwy, across the Denali Highway, all over the Kenai Peninsula, down to Valdez . . . might pick up the eastern part of the state's paved roads this year . . .
