New guy from Texas - 2013 Voyager

Picked it up from the dealer this afternoon. 2013 Voyager 1700, non-ABS, blue/black. I'd read a few threads over the past few days, including the one about antennas coming loose. By them time I got where I was going, about 10 miles down the road, it was gone. At least I think it had an antenna. Anyway, I really like the way it rides. Been a couple of years since I've rode anything. Got to take it easy till I get back into it.

Welcome from WA. Sorry to hear about your antenna. The dealer might replace it under warranty. If not you should be able to pick up a replacement for $10 or so at an automotive store, just match the threads and put a lock washer under it. You'll probably get better reception from the after market antenna too.

Enjoy the bike, it will serve you well.
Welcome from NC. I posted one of the antenna threads here. And reception will not be a problem, even w/o a mast. It's the standing wave ratio it creates without one that ruins the radio. But 2Paps is right, a good one from an auto parts store is just as good if warranty won't replace yours. That sucker from Kaw is $125.00! There is nothing special about the stock antenna mast. The threading is standard M6, and most come with that adapter (check the package). Hope you enjoy your Voyager as much as I do mine!
Thanks guys. I emailed dealer as soon as I noticed antenna was gone. He replied this morning and said to drop by and pick up another one. Can't beat that. Hoping to find time tomorrow to get out and ride a little.
Welcome what part of Texas?

Can anyone tell me if this forum/site is available thru Tapatalk? I searched for "vulcan forums" but nothing that works is coming up. Thanks.
