If anything was rubbing, due to the forward rotation of the tire and the location from where they seem to originate, the sparks should be going down, or forward and down. I can't figure out what would be rubbing and sparking from that location, anyway, that would be coming out the side instead of being deflected from the lower rear fender which is visible behind the sparks.

This was actually emailed to me, rather than analyse it, i chose to enjoy the moment.:D

Those sparks should be set about 1 foot up. Now that would be believeable.
Good pic though, That's one lucky guy!!
