My bike is a 2012 900 Classic.
I have this engine guard: http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/kawasaki-fire-and-steel-engine-guard-kawasaki-vulcan-900-classiclt/part/KAK-32000-044

I really like the lines on this radiator grill: http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/show-chrome-accessories-big-bike-parts-mesh-radiator-grill-vulcan-900-classiccustom/part/BBP-71-321

In the picture of the grill, the upper mounting screw is awfully close to where the clamp on the engine guard would be (compare to picture of engine guard). I’m concerned that the two are not compatible.

I e-mailed customer support at BBP and they said they cannot guarantee fit. The people at cruiser customizing told me basically the same thing.

Is anyone using the above combination? What grills are known to work with the Kawi engine guard?

Thanks!

If you look closely at the pic of your engine guard or even verify on the bike itself the mounting bolt locations for the rad guard should not interfere with the engine guard. I have the same OEM engine guard and also an aftermarket rad cover and there was no issue. I have also replaced the slotted screws with stainless steel allen SHCS wherever I can on my cycle. I cannot stand the sight of phillips or slotted screws on these cycles. SHCS bolts look so much better and the Stainless Steel will be much more resistant to rust, plus it better matches the chrome parts. Just my 2 cents.
