Since the wife kept me busy and no time to ride today I washed our cars paying extra attention to the wheels, then afterwards gave the bikes a little cleaning, there sure were a lot of dead bugs around the master cylinder!
Well, since no one else is gonna answer, drum brake cylinder. I would say rear but my old '64 El Camino had drum brakes in the front too. Stopping was a luxury add on in them days.
You are correct. My 65 Stang came with front drum brakes. Never knew if it going to pull left or right when you hit the brake pedal. Putting disks brakes on front was a huge improvement.
Next, what is it, where does it go, what's the hole for?
If that is what I am thinking that may be a little difficult for the average wrench, but I could be wrong, maybe I need to take a longer look to get a better bearing...

Bushing style camshaft bearing. The hole is for oil feed. Its position varies on different engines. On some you line it up with the galley holes and some in a clock position to get the best hydrodynamic wedge effect. I seem to remember on some Chevy engines that works out to 4 o'clock. I rebuilt a few Chevy motors and a 396 Ford (yum). But if some are confused by the hydrodynamic wedge, here's a tech bulletin about where:
Correct.
The actuator is responsible for moving the air direction and temperature doors inside the heater plenum; their job is to manage mode settings like re-circulation modes, mid vent, defrost and fresh air, floor as well as temperature. Also, they control the cold and hot settings for left and right passenger sections.
Correct.
The neutral safety switch is a safety device that only allows you to start your engine when the automatic transmission is in either Park or Neutral. The purpose of the neutral safety switch is to prevent the car from starting while in gear, which would cause it to launch forward unexpectedly.
@BlueRibbonRM, hope you are enjoying this thread as much as I do. I almost can't wait to post the next part to see your comments. It's cool that maybe we're helping some folks with parts identification and having fun at the same time.
I enjoy it more than actually installing this crap!! I look forward to what's next and have had some thoughts wondering when certain parts will be pictured such as the blend door actuator recently posted. Some that have posted I was unsure of because I never had the exact ones come up but can typically figure them out after staring for a moment, a little harder since I only visit this forum on my phone so pictures are smaller haha
