Here is my first project this year to the Nomad. Pictures don't do it justice. With the LEDs on or off it looks awesome. Hope you enjoy. Just received more goodies so more to follow. Steve.

Also, I have a thunder stock kit. Does anyone know where I can get a new filter for it? and what kind should I get? Am I able to clean it? Thanks.

That looks pretty sick! Is it totally open at the end - or do you have some clear cover over it? It looks like you can see the Throttle body . . .

Check out the pick with the led off. It is a 3/16 piece of red plexi glass. Got the idea from Kane Fiesen's Vaquero. My cover wasn't looking so good so I cut the middle out with a dremel tool. I am very happy with the way it looks. Thanks for the comment.

Watched a video of this guy doing a custom window for a PC with a dremel. I had the left side laying around so I gave it a shot. Heres the link http://www.mnpctech.com/Dremel.html.

Wow, what a cool mod! I like the fact you can see the throttle bodies thru the plexi. Nice work Steve. If you have a Thunder air kit I am pretty sure you can find replacement filters on their web page.

Thanks! I just went to website and realize they use k&n filters. So I order a set of cleaner and oil from kn 15.00.

gcsteve,

How did you treat and seal the cut edges of the metal?

I could see this mod being useful for getting rid of the worn graphic panels on the air cleaner housings.

I'm wondering how long and how well that plexi glass will stay clean. Every time I've pulled my right cover off there is a bit a residue on the inside of the cover from operation. I would bet this is enough to dirty up the view fairly quick and deteriorate the plexi glass?

Yes, my graphic panels were looking worn. I cut the plexi glass to the size of the air filter and attached it to the cover with scotch 4010 tape. It is tight against the filter. The edges of the cover I used a grinding attachment of my dremel tool and it came out pretty good. I also order some 3mm flexable auto U channel chrome, but it has not arrived.

It will get dirty but, my cover cleaned up easily enough and if it gets bad I bought enough plexi to make about 6 pieces. Only takes about 5 minutes to cut. Time will tell.
