For reference - I am 5'8", 30" inseam, 190 lb.

Got my bike (2011 900 classic LT) in November. Rode about 2k miles on stock seat. It was TERRIBLE. Butt fatigue, back fatigue, and worst of all - the seating position put such a strain on one of my upper leg/hip muscles that I had trouble lifting my leg to get my pants on!

Put the mustang seat (Part Number: 79416, one piece touring with back rest) on about 2k miles ago. Was not sold when originally rode on it. Yes - it did raise me up (an inch or so?), and it felt too firm and "small". So (living in central Fl) I decided to drive up to Ormond Beach and try out the "Ultimate Seats" product. During the 2 hour drive to Ormond Beach (on the Mustang seat) I kept noticing how comfortable I really was - no back or butt problem, no shifting around on the seat to get comfortable, etc. So by the time I arrive at the Ultimate factory, I was pretty sold on the Mustang seat. I had the Ultimate seat installed and went for a short ride. It actually was VERY similar to the Mustang seat. Looked almost the same. Felt almost the same. Had Ultimate take it off, put the Mustang back on, and rode home. (BTW - Ultimate personnel were very professional - were happy to let me demo their seat, and never pressured me, and had Ultimate been the first seat I had bought, probably would still be riding on it).

So now, 2k miles later, am happy to report that I can ride for hours on end with NO back or butt problems. Am only limited by my overall fatigue factor. And the comfort factor is awesome - just plunk my butt down and ride, and never have to move about. And my occasional passenger says she is much more comfortable on the Mustang seat (compared to stock).

I ordered my seat directly from Mustang (if you read the fine print from other dealers, the money back / trial period deal is not quite as good as from Mustang direct). I called them up direct, asked for a supervisor, and then asked for a discount to match their dealers prices. They sold it to me for $544 (seat + backrest), free shipping.

I just put my Mustang 1 piece touring seat (w/o backrest) on this weekend and was able to go for about a two hour ride. I have to admit I was sold the minute I sat on it. Love the new position. After about 1/2 hr on the stock my upper Back would ache, after two hours of riding I had no pain. Plus it is just comfortable overall.

+1 on the Mustang. I have a 09 LT with almost 28000 miles and without the Mustang I wouldn't have that many miles on my bike. I have about 20000 miles on the Mustang and it still looks great and is holding up very well. On the stock seat after 40 miles my wife had to take a rest if she was able to get off the bike from all the pain, witch was good for me because I didn't want complain that I also feeling her pain. The day I installed the Mustang she said it was the best investment I've ever made to the bike, for me it took about 500 miles to break in and for her it was great right from the start. I'm sure there might be a couple of seats out there that are equil or more comfortable, but I think the Mustang has the best bang for your buck. The 9 is a great bike but someday I would like to trade her in for a 1700cc Nomad or Voyager, and the first thing on the list will be a Mustange seat. Ride safe!

Ditto all the good things being said about Mustang seats. Only had my bike for a week, rode about an hour a day for three days and my back was killing me. Ordered a Mustang and was like night and day.

I also like the Corbin seat. It wasn't available for my bike at the time. I sent my seat to New Jersey for a repadding job. Added one inch of dense memory foam, made a lot of difference. We sometimes ride for 8-10 hrs. a day when on a trip. Wouldn't want to start without it.

Just got mine in today. Gonna have to wait at least 2 more months before I get to try it out. It looks like it's a little taller than stock. Hope not to much. I can barely touch the ground the way it is right now.:(

I put the Kuryakyn ISO grips on. A little bigger then the stock definitely more comfortable. I did not add anything fancy to them but think I will order the throttle boss (I think that is what they call it)

I've got 1 one the way

I have a 09Classic 900, i bought nos fall of 2010, a lil more than a year of riding i am heading toward 23000. I didn't really mind the stock seat, but my girlie surely did. I should have it this week and give an update before long. I ordered a Mustang Touring seat off of ebay 359 to the door! Think i got a decent deal!

I hated the stock grips also, even the cheap knockoff grips are better than the stock. I bought a set of knockoff Kuryakyn iso grips from ebay for $27 with shipping and I like em alot, beats the hell out of spending $60-$70 for the real one and I don't see much differents if any.

I have 06 classic with mustang seat with driver backrest,I can honestly say that 650km in one day presented zero comfort issues for me!I put 2 inch risers on did the same tour and was even better almost too comfortable if you know what I mean! IMO the seat also looks like it belongs on the bike and it does match the stock sissybar as well

You will sit about an inch taller in the saddle with a Mustang.
