My bike is in the shed sans battery and it is way too cold to look (-39 C, -38F) but I know I have more than 85,000 kms. Started to use a little oil in the last couple of years but not badly.

People only think that motorcycle engines wont last because they get bought with the best intentions,
then not ridden much,
then you have 30 year old bike with 15,000 miles on it rusted up and thrown away.
Any bike engine should last 100,000 and more.

When I had my 2006 V2K LT,I put 86,000 trouble free miles on it in 4 years. I then traded it in for a 2010 Harley Heritage Softail. Biggest mistake I ever made. Harley was a dog,no power. The V2K will spoil you for any other bike, it is smooth, powerful, heavy, and just a great fun bike to ride.

I've seen these bikes with up close to 100k miles on it.

The trick is take care of it.. really like anything else.

"There's no Replacement for Displacement" your '10 flstf had a 1584cc (96 cu.in) engine. A 2000cc is a larger displacement. I personally like our '08 Heritage. It runs smooth (96B is counterbalanced), and me (and my wife) ride conservatively. My wife gets 48-50 mpg. She used to ride a 1600 Vulcan Classic. It was a great bike, too. She loves this Harley. When she showed up at her first ride with it, all her riding friends said, "But we thought you were the Kawasaki Girl!". She still is, when she rides on the back of my Voyager! I read other Voyager owners buying an upgraded ECM program, but I don't need it and still want to keep my warranty. I know HD has increased the size of their engines at least twice, since 2010, but we don't need a bigger engine on it. We run it stock - no " Stage" kits. Stock exhaust. I had a 2008 Heritage Anniversary model. Same model, same year, as the one we have now. One was 'mine', the other was 'hers'. I was not happy with the 6 speed, so I traded it for a '06 Road Glide. It had a Big-Bore kit and a 5 speed tranny. It rocked - but I found this '15 Voyager at a Harley dealer and he made me a great deal. It runs smoother at idle and I like the fairing better than the flht. I usually ride that.
But our current flstc is fine, and I can't explain it, except maybe the run, off the assembly line was different. I'm sorry you had bad luck, but we are happy with our '08 flstc.

Oh, by the way, we've had several Kawasaki ( 4 Vulcans and other) bikes we've put 50k (+) miles on. Kawi makes a good product at a reasonable price!

Glen had lots of power also, oh sure, his bike was powerful but that power cost him his life when his big powerful bike took a curve too fast and he lost control and was flipped onto some rocks along the side of the curve and that was the end of Glen on his powerful bike, because he died of internal bleeding from hitting the rocks, so i'm just sayin this cause you think power is great but look what it did to my friend Glen, just sayin

Sorry your friend died.

but had nothing to do with the power of the bike. Shame on you for even suggesting that.

A lot of the power of a bike translate to the feeling of her being capable of what you ask of her while on the road.

I've had need for it when needing to pass a long truck, when ridding 2 up on a steep hill and not having the bike feel the weight, rarely do I ride any faster than traffic dictates and any time I am at 70 mph or above is just to avoid being run over by highway traffic.

I am extremely aware that my bike is much more capable than I am and if I ever get injured ridding it will most probably be more my fault or an external condition than the power of the bike.

She will never go faster than I ask her to go. I've come to learn that even curvy mountain roads, just like life, are not really more fun just for going faster but for being aware of the journey you are in and enjoying each moment.

I sing the praises for my beast, more that the power it has, for the joy it is to ride, the joy it is to work on (very easy on most tasks) and just the beauty of the design as a whole.
