Low Profile Mirrors - VN900 Custom Bobber

6344 Views 15 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Poncho Villa
Which low profile mirror options would suit my new look VN 900 Bobber?

Must have good rear vision, stay tight when tightened up, not made of cheap plastic, have no gimmick theme, locking into place and stay there and must suit the bobber look.

Just want a plain low profile square heavy metal mirror with good glass....

I just bought some Arlen Ness mirrors (haven't arrived yet). They make some really nice black slim mirrors and they usually come with the right thread to fit metric or imperial cruisers.

Peter Stevens up at Ringwood has them in stock but they're in the Harley section of the store. Means you can go and look at them and get a sense of the size.
Great stuff Mr Walko!

Thanks

Hey Romper,Your bike looks great after the conversion.
If you buy new mirrors and decide you want to sell your standard mirrors. Just let me know.
My mirrors are rusty and I like the look of the standard mirrors.

I'll probably have my standards to sell in a week or so. I am waiting for my Arlen Ness ones to arrive from eBay.

Sounds good to me.
Are they in good condition?

They're perfect. Bike has only done 12,000km and well looked after. I'll put them on eBay and post the link here afterwards.

We should be able to figure something out.

That guy did pick the exhaust up eventually. Took a few attempts because he was getting one of his interstate drivers to collect them for him. They were nice pipes but I'm happy with the way my partially debaffled stock ones are running at the moment. I may do differently someday when I move to a different bike.
romper, ever consider some under bar mirrors or bar end mirrors? lowering mirror stalks puts the rear image rite into your arms and not behind.

if you go down low, be sure they clear your tank when full swing them handybars. poncho
great idea.

If you have any pics with these mirrors on actual bikes, you would be good to see...

will definitely consider it.

is it possible to buy these and then take the brackets to a chrome shop and have them chrome them. I like them too.

Romper
I'm sure for the right price, anything can be chromed. I was thinking. As small as the brackets are, I could maybe get away with scuffing them and using a chrome type rattle can spray on them. I'm running 16" apes and am looking for a low profile mirrors. My stocks are way up there. This may just do the trick.
