Hey Dano;
Are you looking for Chrome or Black..? I have:
1 set of 3" inch Res Tech pipes in black and (Used no dents)
1 set of 3" inch Road Burner pipes in Chrome (Used no dents but some surface scratches)

Both will fit Classics and Customs and literally, the same pipes sold under different company names.
I have shipped a set of these from Phoenix to Atlanta I think it was through UPS and it cost me $110

Make sure you check multiple vendors, and use as small a box as possible (cut the box down to fit if you're using something other than the box it came in). Different shippers ship things differently. But they all charge more for larger boxes over a certain size, there's a formula that figures both weight and shipping size. You can't make them lighter, but the box should be as small as possible.

Get the weight and dimensions and call around. USPS, FedEX, UPS, etc. In my experience they can vary wildly in price.

Shipping on Pipes

You're absolutely right Romans 5.8;

I have one of the original boxes still and will narrow it as much as I can without sacrificing the padding that will protect the pipes.

This one of the errands I'll be running tomorrow Saturday..

Hey Dano;

Okay, I did some shopping around on the shipping for the Chrome Road Burner pipes and also thought of giving you a little extra info that I thought might help you in making a better informed choice on switching your Exhaust pipes to an aftermarket set. When I decided to switch my OEM pipes, I became aware that I would also have to install a Fuel Processor because of the following conditions:

"By adding a freer flowing exhaust, or air filter or both, the air fuel ratio becomes even leaner. The motorcycle will exhibit conditions such as backfiring on deceleration, an uneven idle or surging at constant throttle settings. This lean condition can also make your engine run noticeably hotter."

I decided to go with the Cobra Fi2000r because it has a good reputation and it wasn't going to break my bank. I bought mine on eBay for about $169.

http://www.fi2000r.com/html/detail_view.php?make_id=2064&bike_model=105&model=Fi2000R%20&product_type=3&manufacture=3

I also wanted to add that when I first installed the pipes, they were exactly what I wanted with regards to looks and the sound was rich and deep, but much, much louder than expected, so after doing some research I went with a set of Smartpart baffles which reduced the thunder to a level that I could really appreciate. I bought the set for $69 which is what the website shows

http://www.smartpartz.com/SPZRB300SLT.html

The pipes brand new from Road Burner are selling for $599, I bought mine on eBay for $449 and I would sell you mine for $350 shipping included, and they would include the Smartpartz baffles, which can also be removed, they are somewhat of a tight fit but are installed with only one allen bolt, so to remove them might be a bit of a challenge since I bought them right after I bought the pipes which was April of 2014.

Also, as I mentioned previously, the pipes have some surface scratches and I have added some pictures so that you can see how they look.
Let me know what you think after you do the research on your own if you're still interested..

Cheers...
Harry

Extra pictures

Here are some more pictures of the pipes, and one more thing, the end caps which I bought separate are not included, you would get the ones that came with the pipes which are circular as shown on the picture from Road Burner.

I used UPS... I think the US postal service is cheaper, Like Romans said if you can use a smallest enough box, it wi;ll cut down on price
