*** UPDATE - I know a lot of the links are working anymore but I tend to update the links that are in my signature ***

As you guys may of noticed, I am very social on this forum.

If anyone wants any documents relating to the bike and maintenance .

You can email me at [email protected] and I can send through what I've got.

I am very good with my hands and in saying that, I have done a lot of mods to my bike.

I bought my bike brand new in 2018 and I have put 20 xxxkms on it. In that time, I have taken the bike a part and modified it quiet a bit.

I have done a lot of research, trial and error to see what works and what doesn't.

I thought I would share all my useful links and things that I have found.

with only one anchor point, how did you get the saddlebag arms mounted without sway/movement?
Yes you are right, it only uses 1 mounting point.

The mounting bracket actually has a lip which prevents it from swaying left or right. It is pretty secure but must admit, buying a cheap bag and cheap bracket, you get what you pay for.

I am really happy with the bag and bracket, holds my wet weather gear in case I ever need it.

I do love the look and yes I agree ,gives it a lot of character.

It doesn't sway or bump or rest on the chain guard.

Thanks for sharing this. Very comprehensive. Do you have any future mods in mind?

Also, just wondering what the quad lock is for given that P platers aren't allowed to use phones? :)

No problem, figured it would save everyone from wondering what works and what doesn't.

I don't have any mods in mind at the moment. Right now the bike is running perfectly and I don't see a need to add anything else.

As for the phone mount. I have been pulled over twice . Once for a random breath test and the other was a RBT set up on the side of the road. Neither times did they mention anything. It maybe because I have my full license for my car and only need to be on my red Ps for a year then get my full license right after that.

Yes, thanks to your videos and pics, I purchased the SBM and discovered the Cyclops Ultra headlight which I’ve also bought. Tossing up between the Rizoma Iride S lights and Kurakyn Torpedo lights right now. Your links have been very helpful.

How’s the Delk exhaust? I’m considering getting the 410mm ceramic slash cut, but can’t make up my mind. In some YT videos, the 550 and 410 sound tinny and high on the KVS; in others, somewhat deep and throaty. Throws me off a bit. Wish I could find a definitive option that would make the bike sound like a triple with a shorty on.

I’m a learner rider, but have my full car licence. Feel like I might be pushing my luck trying to get away with that in inner Sydney on my red Ps.

Good choice on the SBM and Cyclops. They are both really good and easy to install. As for the signals, both look very similar. Its matter of preference .

This is where the Delkevic has an issue. If you are going to service the bike yourself, you need to know with the 550mm , you will need to take off the muffler in order to lift the bike. With the 410, you dont need to.

Unforantualy, there are no exhausts that make our bikes sound like a triple. Arrow is louder and higher pitch . the danmoto you will need to ride with earplugs .

I prefer the 550mm as it has a deeper tone and isn't as loud. It is still definitely loud but not as ear deafening as the 410.

I actually have a stainless steel (has seen better days) 550mm kit for sale if you are interested.

Definitely. I installed the Cyclops headlight today... many steps up from the sad OEM headlight. As for the indicators, I think the Kurakyn lights are larger in diameter. They look really sleek on your bike so I might go with those.

Btw, I noticed your rear lights are the single function versions. What stopped you from getting the multifunction Torpedo lights for the rear and setting them up with the SBM and R&G TT tail light so that you have several brake lights for visibility?

Re exhausts, I did consider Arrow, TBR, Danmoto and Akrapovic, but have been leaning towards Delkevic as it seems deeper. I'm very new to bikes and working with my hands so I'm not fussed about the issue with the 550mm exhaust just yet. The Delkevic salesman in QLD advised that I go with the 410 over the 550 if I wanted more depth to the sound. That said, I don't want to wear earplugs all the time. Both do sound droney at higher speeds in the videos. Seems unavoidable with the KVS. Does your experience with the 550 mirror how it comes across in the video?

I assume the stainless steel 550mm kit is the one you painted black. What happened to it?

I went with the single function because they were cheaper and I already I was planning to install the customer dynamic plate as well. I figured with the R&G tail light sprayed with red night shade and the SBM flashing, it will be enough and it seems to be working.

The spare 550mm is the one I painted. It lasted about 4 months til it started flaking . I just stripped it down back to stainless steel.

Hey @B3Hulk... sorry to jump in on an old thread, but I was wondering... for the indicators, what did you use as an adapter to mount them on the front (to fill up the extra space when you remove the old indicators)?

Had to make this a second reply to include links (get my post count up to 3)...

R&G Racing provide this little guy for their indicators: https://images5.rg-racing.com/fit-in/1500x1500/filters:quality(90)/Images/images/Products/large/Gallery_6849_9cdf0db28c924f6fa5052cccba4f6049.jpg - I imagine it would work for the Kuryakyn indicators too, but perhaps you had a simpler approach.

I've been looking at the Kuryakyn bullet indicators (https://www.kuryakyn.com/azureFiles/kuryakyn/22742_1350x900_RGB_72DPI.jpg), but they're so darn expensive. Perhaps the Torpedo style is a more affordable option (though I don't like the shape quite as much).

I actually didn't use any special mounts.

I got the old lights, cut them at the base , drilled a larger hole, used epoxy to glue on the indicators to the base and then placed a washer at the end of the indicator and tighted to the base.

Just screwed it back down to the bike
