Last couple weeks I have been on a journey of repairing deep-to-bare-metal paint chips with exactly zero experience. I learned as much what NOT to do next time as much as I learned what TO do.

As I am trying to smooth things out, I tried some Meguiar's Ultimate Compound in order to try to smooth out some of my missteps and wow...it really kicks some a**.

I encourage anyone looking to buff out light scratching to give it a try. I am very impressed with the results. I have no pics because it is hard to get pics of light scratches, but trust me, I am not getting paid. Just wanted to share.

Also used the Chemical Brothers claybar kit first and that worked amazingly well also.

Don’t forget to re-wax or apply a ceramic coating after correcting the finish with clay and polish. The turtle wax ceramic coating was amazing on the truck and the bike both

Finished claybarring, polishing, and waxing all the paint this afternoon. Chrome is next week's project.

What does everyone use on their seat and sissy bar pad sorta-kinda leather?

@RB 32504 Crap! I meant to try the ceramic stuff this time around and somehow forgot. Next winter maybe.

I've been using Protect-All. It's light bodied wax that was recommended to me by Mustang for their seats. I found it works well on just about any surface. Keep in mind though that the seat will be slippery for little while after treating.
