A win and a loss for me yesterday. Went to install LED lights for front head lamp and rear tail lamp. Tail lamp was ok with some creative wiring. It did come with integrated turn signals but I didn't hook those up yet. Just the main tail lamp and brake lamp. I would recommend this modification for it's look and function but, the aftermarket finish for metalized housing is a bit sub par. It looks OK but not as good as the OEM Stanley housing. The lens is great but the housing I would rate at a B over the original A+ for the stock housing. If you can see past the orange peelish appearance in the chrome, it will be fine. I am a lighting guy so I'm picky... I am planning on putting an LED flasher unit under the seat and integrate the turn signals without removing the stock ones for now.

The head lamp however was a fuster cluck... The original OEM is a Stanley lamp with BMC housing inside the bucket with bracket. The new lamp (LED china knockoff - it was cheap $60) will not marry up to the bracket therefore will not work.... I will have to return this lamp sadly - loved the look though... Has anybody here hooked up an LED headlamp to the beast? If so, which lamp and how did you do it...? I prefer LED but would concede to a higher output bulb if necessary.

I made a mistake recently and visited the dealer and started drooling over a new vaquero. Love the fairing and hard bags (the ass end on that vaquero is awesome - so wide....). However, I don't want to part ways with this beast and I can't afford a new cycle so, it's time to update the beast a bit...
Slowly changing things on the old girl (2007 Classic LT) to make here a little more modern and unique. Here are some pics of the tail lamp change.... Getting some LED passing lights in a few days. That change shouldn't be too much trouble (cross my fingers)...

Thanks in advance for any advice on the head lamp...

I had a similar LED tail light for a few years.

.

Back in 2012, I cut out the tail light and fiber glassed it over.

Underneath the fiber glass are banks of LED, that are run and brake lights.

when the bike is off, you have to look REALLY close to tell there is anything different in that area...
