as per request here are pix and descript of these LeatherLyke locking hardbags w/quik detach feature. This is my 3rd pair on as many bikes. though have done other bags for larger size and finish, these are my goto defacto bags for most everyday use. Not too spensive at $5c notes. very lite weight and ez to install/remove 1 minute or less. waterproof, lockable. not overly huge,, have stuffed a lot of stuffins in here on shopping errand runs. YES you can fit a whole 24 beer case in each bag no problemo. rite there is reason alone to get these.

they also make a similar rear bag of the same size, shape to sit behind the passenger. www.leatherlyke.com made rite here in Bulverde Texas. I have visited the plant and done the tour thing. good folks, from the old Vetter Fairing company,, Hopke industries I remember?. poncho

Those look pretty cool ponch, for quite awhile now I've been wanting to do some HD hard bags on mine, but lately I've been leaning towards the leather RK ones, they have a great look to them as well.
I can add some views from my last 2000. Each bag also has a clip under the lid to act as a helmet lock.
I have the leather lyke bags, they are great but they stick out like a sore thumb, in my opinion. They are really functional, but I am going to look at a set of Harley hard bag replicas.
I have the trunk if anyone wants to make an offer. I had it on for a year and then went to the Harley Tour pac. PM me in interested.

I agree but they were so easily removed and had such a clean look I kept them. They wouldn't be my 1st choice now but they are relatively inexpensive.
Thank You for the post Ponch0 ! The case of beer per bag I think just SEALED the deal!

gta have room for da hops!

The bags may have to wait... I may have the opportunity to pick up a Vaquero. It would be a great bike for the distance riding I like to do, and comes with all the amenities. We will have to see, but until I make a decision, mods to the VN2K have stalled.

Hman, yor gonna miss this big motor in that fancy tour bike. I don't blame you for wanting more comfy accoutrements, still the motor is watt makes v2k special. poncho
I guess I need to brush up on a Vaquero, that is unless someone would like to tell me exactly what the Vaquero has that the V2K doesn't. Oh hell, never mind, I don't want one anyway. I want to go up in engine size, not down.

It's a Voyager without a trunk, it's a Nomad with a Voyager front fairing and electronics.

Take your pick.

Do you think that is possible Ponch?
Do you think that is possible Ponch?
RnR, oh ye of such little faith, all things are possible if you will only believe. poncho... or was it that otter guy? Jesus

simple, yes. ez, no.
Ponch, being a veteran of building modified jeeps, I'm no stranger to the adage "anything can fit " lol. It was the "easy " i was curious about. I have always thought the vaquaro was a cool whip, be even better with the v2k hart in it
