Does anyone know the largest rear tire size that can be installed on a 2003 Vulcan 800A using the standard rim?

140/90h16

The 140/90H16 is stock (from what I can gather from Avon)... but would love to hear about what is +1 or +2 sizes as well (I've got a 95 VN800).

I'll second that sentiment. I'm up for new rubber front and back, and I'd like to go bigger on both. The rims do look like they're pretty close to maxed out at the stock size, though I'm not as familiar with how much bigger you can go on a spoked motorcycle rim.

Let's hear it!

sizes

Byron down here in Texas is running a Dunlop D404 size 150/80-16 on the rear but I'm not sure if he modified the rear brakes to accommodate this size or not... I'll ask. He did say that tire is on a stock wheel though.

Thank you. I'll look forward to your answer on the brakes.
