Given that it is winter (ish in Texas), does anyone know of any wind deflectors that fit on the bottom of the upper fairing between the upper fairing and the lowers? There is that little swoop in the fairing that allows wind directly to my knee caps.
My pops had wind wings for his Valkyrie. those worked great but we don't need something that large.

Thanks

Pop a little bit of sponge rubber in there over winter... A bit of plumbers pipe-wrap works a treat, I've found. Get ready for some ribbing as well though - not everyone appreciates how we who are prone to cold knees are affected by that wee gap. ;)

I have knee armor in most of my riding pants, and they do help. I picked up some closed cell foam from the Walmart camping section (camping pad), and I am going to cut a few pieces that I will cram between the upper and lower fairing for my 400 mile ride in a couple days.

Been a few guys in here that have made air dams usinf plexiglass or even bug shield from a car. You will need to do a search for those.

You can always get these. I had them on a couple scoots and they worked well. But pricey for the Voyager...

Some have pic on how they built their own.... That is on my summer project list.

But he pipe insulation works well also for a temp solution.

But I have noticed after the engine warms up, it is really not needed all that much when the vent in the lower is closed.... I have none many days in the low 40's lately.... around 150 mile trips each day....

Those baker's are exactly what I am looking for....but you are right. That's an expensive fix for the weird swoop in the fairing.
At 6'-4" tall, my knee caps sight right in that swoop!!

swoop

I am talking about the way the upper fairing swoops in to not match the lower fairing. I can't feel the wind in the 1/4" gap between the upper and lowers.

Thanks for the info gents!

Depending if I stand up right or like a Gorilla like I normally do, I am between 6-2 and 6-3..

When I think I am rich I will get them and probably cut a new piece that goes in the gap so it fits better. I will have to move the air horn yet again (sigh...) Seems like the last air deflectors I got from them with 3 different flaps was around $140 about 10 years ago...

That way I will already have the mount in place. I always get clear and I always have good pieces of plexi laying around. But I may have to get smoke this time. I never had a scoot with black on it til now....

Seems like I saw a set that fit better than those pics show. Those are

They worked well on the other scoots I had them on... Ugly as all get out, but worked. Kept my legs dry or warmer, or cooler depending on which way they are angled in or out....

I may get some 1 inch thick closed cell insulating foam flat stock and make a piece that will wedge in and stay... But it isn't a really good angle for a good wedge for that...

Started working on it!

Got the brackets, bolts, washers & nuts. Just need to find a good sheet of plexiglass.

Started with cardboard to size it just right. It took three templates to get something close enough to my liking.
Think I will round the top and the bottom outside corner. Probably make it a bit taller too.

That area is my biggest pet peeve on this whole bike. Makes you cold and allows a lot of water through in the rain. Not that you don't get wet but it directs all the water right to you inner thighs. I wonder if some type of clear tape like they use to protect the paint on the front of cars would work? Maybe between the upper and lower faring on the front side?
