Should be the same bike- the 88 means 88 cubic inches, or 1470 CCs, which the 1500s Vulcans actually are.

What matters more is the designation- 1500A, B, C, D, E etc.Yours is probably the twin carb 1500A.

 

Ok thanks very much, my hand book says its a c2 and I'm thinking your correct as I've just noticed that on the back of the hand book it says VN1500C2 and on the front VN15, it must be the same as I can't find any parts lists for the VN15 either.

Careful ordering parts. I have a 1500A and parts are hard to come by. Also had the 1500C model for a bit. Only one aftermarket seat by Corbin. Can get custom seats made. Most aftermarket listings are for Classic model which do not fit. Verify before that they are for the 88-99 A/B/C models.
