I have a 2011 kawi 900 and I don't mind it at all, just seems to be not so solid at highway speeds and I'm 6'2" and mostly legs. I sit okay on my 900 its just a little cramped. I'm wondering if the v2k has the controls a bit more forward so I can sit a bit more comfortably. Are they a bigger maybe longer frame or same frame just bigger engine. Guy has a 2010 V2k with 15k miles on it for 4k and I'm thinking about grabbing it but want some opinions. Also does the V2K make heavy revving at highway like the 900?

I do believe the frame is longer. I do not experience high revving at highway speeds with those 2053cc's. I love my VN2000 and will NEVER get rid of it. I might buy something else, but Lucille stays. Go visit the guy and sit on it. Then you will know. :) Yeah...I just told him to sit on it...lmao...

Say down the way I need a new engine, are these rebuild only or do you have a place to buy a crate motor? I was looking online and people want 3k on ebay for a used engine with no mileage stated.

As for yur original Q, the frame is definitely biger, longer. I had a chance to park both my 1600 (previous bike) and the V2K side by side to a vulcan 900 and it look tiny, even though the 900 had a corbin seat and a set of BIG corbin beetle bag (very good looking bags, very $$$pensive). One of the things that attracted me to the 1600 was precisely the size of the frame, all the other bikes I sat prior to buying the 1600 I felt cramped, as soon as I sat in the 1600 I felt right at home.
the issue of cost of fully repairing a V2K engine, it has been mention it cost a lot of $$$ just in parts alone, maybe thats part of the reason for the cost of used engines. On the plus side, with good maintenance they should last a lot of miles.

I have both bikes, the V2K and the 900C. The V2K is definitely larger and more spacious for a big fella (and big gal 2 up,,:devil2:) My 900C has a pretty long wheelbase, but the seating position is cramped by V2K standards. I have test rides on the Voyager and find it cramped compared to the V2K as well. For the engine question, I haven't heard of anyone getting an actual crate engine. I have 80k + miles on mine and no great issues. Likes a dollop of oil if I run it fast for a long period but like I said, no major mechanical issues at all.

I forgot about the vibrations..... My 900 starts to get buzzy about 75mph. I don't feel any uncomfortable vibrations on the V2K until I am into the triple digits.

Only 22,000 mi on my '05, so she's not even broke in good, as we'd say in the South...but nary a mechanical issue with me or with the previous owner (a former co-worker). I can't imagine life without Big Mo', my 2K!
