Does any one know if you can get Iridium spark plugs for a 2008 VN 900 classic? If so what is the plug #? I put them in a 1991 VN 750 I had before I bought my VN 900 Classic and what a big improvement they made.

I had the Iridiums in my Vn750 as well. To the best of my knowledge though, this has been come up at least once before and they didn't currently have an Iridium plug that matches the 900s, at least not yet. I haven't looked myself since my 900 is still so new (barely 3000 miles) and won't need plugs for a while. But when it comes time for achange, I'd consider the Iridiums again.

I'm working seriously on an '09 Vulcan 900 Classic LT deal and was interested in the iridium plugs (maybe, NGK). When I first began looking at a '10 Vulcan 1700 Nomad I noticed that it was fitted with iridium plugs, OEM. But, I meant to go look to see if the '09 Vulcan 900 LT had OEM or had an iridium replacement plug available. I'm getting the message that such an iridium replacement plug ISN'T available, right? Thanks!

Thanks, Tm! I loves me some iridium plugs. Nicely equipped '09 VN900 LT you got, there. Did you completely remove the baffles, or did you drill some holes and if so, what's your hole pattern look like? Has anyone ever done a variety of hole patterns and specified the sound results? I was even thinking about even doing some "V-notches" to the center baffle plate (if I could find large enough triangular files to make the notches). I won't go with the V-notches unless I could get some results on what others have done with, "other than, hole patterns done to the baffle". Anyone got information about modifications to the baffle plate on OEM pipes for this bike?

Thanks for the info on the Iridium plugs!

I have tried to find a chart to cross referance them but could not. I am not sure if I will get them yet, my plugs are still good. I have less than 4,000 miles on the bike. I can't wait I can get it out and ride. I have been busy putting the goodies I have been getting a little at a time. So far I have put a Cobra short round sissy bar and a lugage rack, Kurykan ISO flame grips, mustang seat, windshield, windshield bag, chrome horn cover and I now have Cobra dragster pipes, Kurykan chrome shift peg, Kurykan chrome brake peddle and a tank bra on it's way. I will try to get some pictures posted when I get the chance and have good weather.:)

I looked also but to no avail. I finally checked with denso and found out what the specs were for denso then edded up cross-referencing off the denso plug back to NGK.

I have been using NGK CPR7EAIX-9 iridiums on my 2008 custom for 3 months and can say they definetly bring the performance to a new level. It runs smoother, eliminates almost all engine vibration and you can feel it revs faster. I found the equivalence in a 4-wheel site. It was easy as the stock plug is widely used in motorsports. I totally recommend them.

NGK Iridium plugs?

:confused:Dawnrider you posted that you use NGK Iridium # CPR7EAIX_9 plugs, Toymaker said he found NGK Iridium # CR7EIX plugs will work, are these the same plug? I have tried to find both these #s on the NGK web site and both say dose not exist. Where can I buy the correct NGK Iridium plug for my 2008 Vulcan 900 classic? Thanks for the info.

I can't wait for the weather to get better and my road to dry up so it's not so terrible So I can ride. I am really starting to get the ich!!!!!Plus all the add ons I have put on it since I put it up in November, it will be like a whole differant bike.:)

My local kawai dealer told me that they dont make a NGK Iridium plug for my 07 vulcan 900 custom. Is this true or are they just not up to date. Ive only got 7000 miles but its the standard plug. Time to update the plug. Any advice on this thanks.

All stealerships will deny anyone makes a part that they don't sell, here in Dallas i was told KN does not make an oil filter for the 900, KN 303 works great have one on the bike now, and has a unique way to get the thing off, yes all KN products are pricey, was also told ROYAL PURPLE MAX CYCLE OIL will RUIN your clutch, YEA RIGHT, they don't sell it.

Don't believe anything the stealership tells you. They are not your friend, they just want your money.

Dawnrider: thanks for the info. What was the equivalence you found.
We are in your home town almost every year around May, spend way to much time at the "BLACK CAT" I will keep an eye peeled for you, that sweet scoot should not be hard to spot. ;)

I just looked at the site benriding posted and it looks like a better deal, not sure how much shipping is but if you someone else that needs two or even if you just want a couple of spares that might be the way to go. Good riding all!!! I am planning on putting on some miles this Sat., all day, it's going to be in the upper 70's and sunny!!!!!
