A while back I did a partial de-baffle (cut holes on the still existing baffles to let the engine breathe a little better), I did not chose to go with a full de-baffle cus I did not want to have a very loud sound.
the end result was a fuller sound, not to many decibels louder, more of a deeper tone, but I did not notice any lost of performance from the engine. Later on I did a custom made air intake with a K&N type filter, after that i chose to install a fuel manager, not b'cus I felt the engine lacking or I had felt any lost in performance but just to try it out.
After install I really felt the improvement, I can not say if it was one or the other mods, maybe the combination of all 3, but the engine ran like it never b4.
I realize this might not directly answer yur question but I hope it still helps.
