I searched the site & can't seem to find parts
Are you sure of numbers? Or maybe just not for sale there anymore :(

no, just means you haven't asked the right question yet

ahhchoo'ie, try dialing 1-800-help-me, or just call em. these are special order parts as they are euro gears, not typically available from N. am distributors. Babbitts can/will get em for you and discount too! the gaskets are same oh. I checked w/canada dist, they want buck fifty each gear. must be the funny money? but the part#'s are good and so is/was the price. see here. out, ponch

Ponch,
thanks for the #s. This really makes a noticable difference on the highway? Do you have a tach? If so how much lower are your rpms at 70 or 80 mph

YES!

Do you have a tach?
NO, too busy riding to be reading instruments. just more junk on my skoot. me likes em more nekid.

10% or 300rpm. motor just lugs along at 60-70mph. 80, she is more in the cook zone. the bike is really now a 4 speed w/5th OD/hiway gear. eliminates the need for a six speed tranny.

stock final drive gears are 50t x 42t = 1.19:1 ratio or
euro gears are 48t x 44t = 1.09:1 ratio
difference is approx 10%

speedo pick up sensor reads teeth on final drive gear.
N.Am units are set for 50t
euro gear 48t represent 4% change.
should see a +4% correction of speedo readout (standard jap error is -10%)

gas mileage remains the same, 45-50mpg. I dont run her hard.. no more. that was only for break in purposes.
