I have to replace the return throttle cable as the cable is damaged.

I've removed the tank, and I slid the right hand throttle piece that you twist with attached cables and the other half of the throttle holder from the handle bar.

I've loosened the throttle cable lock nuts and backed off the adjusters as much as I can. However I can't seem to get enough slack in the throttle cables to allow me to release the throttle end of the cable from the throttle.

Is there a trick to getting enough cable slack to release the cable from the handle bar throttle ?

Thanks

I was able to get the old cable off finally... I lifted the handle throttle slightly out of the metal guide piece it sits and then leaned it in towards the metal guide... This allowed the cable to slip off the twist throttle creating the slack I needed to completely remove it.

Installed new cable using same method.
