I'd like to remove the clutch release component (#13102 on the linked schematic) so I can take it to a welder and have them add 1/4" of length. My wife feels that the clutch is too stiff for her and this would lessen the pull while increasing the friction zone. I just did the same mod to my KLR650 and it made a huge difference. I'm just not sure, after unhooking the clutch cable, how to pull it out.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sorry, I tried to post the schematic in here, but the image location was something stupid like 11,000 characters long, and the forum wouldn't let me make a post that long, even though you didn't see any of the text.

Figured it out.
Nothing is holding it in!
Just disconnect the clutch cable, rotate the part 90* counter clockwise, and it slides right out.
As a side note once a thorough lubing had been done to the clutch cable, clutch lever pivot point, and the pivot point on the release component my wife decided that she could live with the stock clutch pull.
