Hello All,

I recently got a pre-owned 2007 Classic LT. I have been having few queries. I am posting them in different threads so that answering them and following them is lot easier!

The bike makes a hissing noise whenever I brake. I checked the pads and they are in great shape. The disc also seems to be good. Questions I have for you all are:

1. Is it normal for bikes to have hissing noise while braking?
2. Should I expect changes in this noise during different seasons / periods in a year?

I am sorry, I might need a lot of hand holding since this is my first bike in this country :( I appreciate your patience.

Thanks and Regards,
Sharada

The hissing is the Sintered brakes pressing against the rotor. It's perfectly normal, and the sound will change with the temperature and the wear on the pads. Your car makes the same sounds, you just don't hear it because you are inside a closed car.
