Just wondering if anyone has these installed and if so, how it's been converting to HIDs :

Did the conversion on my 1500 classic. Easy and looks good. Lights up the road and retained high and low beam. Dont think I a going to do it on my Vaquero though.

Got a Xetronic G2 (single bulb) kit from Xtralights. It makes a dramatic difference in visibility and casts a wider beam than stock! The only disadvantage on kits like these though is the headlight can not be dimmed so when you switch from Hi and Lo it only effects what angle the light is focused. That means if you are taking a tightly curved road you may have to put your Hi beam on to see farther in front of you while in a banked turn. Also if you are going over a hill in Lo beam cars coming up the opposite direction will get the full blast of your light and might flash you thinking that you have your Hi beam on. All said and done though I think it was one of the best safety mods I have added to the bike. Even during the day it makes it hard for the cagers to ignore you!

BTW be weary of the cheap $50 HID kits. I had one go out on me after only 2 weeks. Your headlight is not something you want to take chances on during a road trip.

P.S. The link you provided is for a two bulb kit which would not be the right kit for most motorcycles.

I have been putting HID kits in all my vehicles for years (so far my 99 Vette, wife's 12 Wrangler, my 12 Ram, my 09 Raider to name a few). I have never had a problem until I put one in my Vaquero. The output on low beam would intermittently flicker, even with a canceler in place. I tried replacing the bulb, the ballast, even the wire harness, nothing worked. Then last night on my way to work it just dies altogether.

Long story short, I had one of those new H4 LED bulbs (no ballast or crazy wiring, very plug and play) from xmas and had been waiting for a chance to put it in. Now I had a reason, lol. Heres the link if your interested.

I after watching some install videos, I took the shield off the bulb before I installed it. The results were awesome! I get the same light output I did with HID, better light spread, and instant on (no waiting for the warm up period). And none of the crazy wiring mess.

Look into it if your thinking of upgrading from Halogens.

Their kits are LIFETIME BULB & BALLAST <$40.00
Excellent quality, no issues after about 1 year of use so far.
Great light output. Best investment ever!!

Irdofh8 I looked at the LED bulbs you listed and they look good. I have HID installed on my Vulcan which I like but I am considering switching to the LEDs on my FJR1300 I am getting next month. My question is how do you fit the rubber seal over the LED bulb?

I left it off, I didn't want the heat sink sitting against that rubber.
