I just got a black one day before yesterday. I sold my 2008 Concours and had an empty spot.
I've rode almost 40 years with no interest in cruisers. When I walked into the shop the salesman asked what I was looking for I said " I'm not sure, anything but a cruiser" because I'd never ridden with forward pegs other than friends bikes.
But then BAM, I saw the flat black, low, nekkid S and it was over. I test rode a white one and really enjoyed the ride. FYI Paulsons in Lacey has a demo bike.
I took her home and added a red light pod I had to highlight the rear shock.
One thing I really appreciate is the look of the exhaust doesn't scream "replace me now!" The way it has on every sport bike I've owned.
I also like the fact I can lean it over in turns. Riding my friends cruisers always elicits moments of WTF when I go around even a mild corner and the bike starts sparking up the concrete. You can lean into the S with no surprises.
