I am a numbers guy. I work with spread sheets and calculators on a regular basis. I know, you can't believe I am admitting that on a mc forum. Anyway, I have read many opinions on this forum and others about the best tires, tire pressure, yada yada yada.

Please reply by answering these questions:
1. What do you ride?

2. What brand of tire do you have on your bike now?

3. What air pressure do you run in those tires?

4. Do you ride mostly solo or two up?

5. How many miles (on average) do you get on the front tire?

6. How many miles (on average) do you get on the rear tire?

7. Would you classify your riding style as grandpa slow, about average, or very aggressive?

If we get a good response my plan is to take those numbers and provide feedback on tire brands and life. Please be honest and accurate with your info. :D

1. What do you ride? 900 Classic LT

2. What brand of tire do you have on your bike now? Dunlops (oem)

3. What air pressure do you run in those tires? 28 front 32 rear

4. Do you ride mostly solo or two up? 2 up

5. How many miles (on average) do you get on the front tire? Can't say for sure yet, only owned for a year. Put almost new tires on it before the end of last season. Front seems to be wearing faster than the rear is. They each only have maybe 5000 miles on them.

6. How many miles (on average) do you get on the rear tire? N/A (don't know yet)

7. Would you classify your riding style as grandpa slow, about average, or very aggressive? All 3, depends on the mood that day, LOL!

5) 15,500
6) 15,000
7) Depends on the road. Running slab or straight highway I might run 10 mph over the limit. In town I go the speed limit and ride carefully. In the twisties I push the bike and myself a bit. I would say somewhere between average and aggressive. Might explain why my front tire only lasted as long as the rear.

Like most accountants, I too am a data & spreadsheet guy.

1. '03 Vulcan 800 Classic (VN800-B8)
2. Michelin COMMANDER II's (front: 130/90-16 & rear: 140/90-16)
3. ~40 front, ~40 rear (checked/set at least weekly)
4. 90%/10% solo/two up
5. 16,000 miles (see Note)
6. 11,000 miles (see Note)
7. Average

Note: It already looks like I'll soundly beat my prior averages (front & rear) with these COMMANDER II's. Already have over 13,000 miles on the rear tire and it looks like it still has plenty left.

Because I am a data guy, if you want exact data on all the prior tires that have been on this VN800-B8, send me a PM and I will provide it to you.

1. Voyager 1700 ABS
2. 2nd set of Michelin CIIs
3. 40 rear, 38 front (last set I ran at factory bike specs - a lot lower than this)
4. 80% Solo 20% two up
5. 16,650 on last CII, 6,000 on stock Bridgestone
6. 16,650 on last CII, 6,000 on stock Bridgestone (I change both out together when the rear is shot because the front generally isn't that far behind - getting them done together makes for less down time)

1. What do you ride?

2013 Voyager @ 17200 miles

2. What brand of tire do you have on your bike now?

Front: Commander II as of 7/23/14, Rear: Goodyear Tripletred 205/60R16 which I put on in October 2013.

3. What air pressure do you run in those tires?
F: 32 R: 36

4. Do you ride mostly solo or two up?
Until now it's been 95% solo. I have a trailer I'm going to start pulling on trips. and hope to do more 2 up riding next summer. All of my current answers are based on the 95/5 percentages.

5. How many miles (on average) do you get on the front tire?
I replaced the OEM at 17094 miles. It was right at the wear bar (~1mm left)

6. How many miles (on average) do you get on the rear tire?
I replaced the OEM at 8065 miles. The GYTT I put on is listed as having 8.7 mm (11/32 inches) of tread. When I checked it on 7/23/14 I measured an average of 6.5 mm remaining. I should be good for another 20k miles or so. Then I'm going to try a commander II on the rear.

7. Would you classify your riding style as grandpa slow, about average, or very aggressive?

Average except to merge with traffic, then it's aggressive :). 90% of my riding is interstate and commuting to work. I don't have a lot of stop and go except for my commute to work and in many cases I engine brake anyway. On the interstate I run 70-80 mph. When I have the trailer I'll likely keep it closer to 70.
