Header wrap on FPE stock baffles

I installed the FPE dual exhaust on my Voyager last year and am very happy with them, but have found that the fiberglass wrap on the baffles doesn't seem to last that long. I was thinking of wrapping them with stove rope but decided to try some header wrap as it's quite a bit cheaper. I can't seem to find anyone who has tried this so here's a sound clip of the bike on high idle. I think it takes away some of the sharp bark it had before, but I will have to wait for warmer weather for the true test. Mainly I was looking for something that would last a little longer.
