Hey guys anyone do or have any info on using harley hard bags. I think they have a nicer look then the bags out there. Anyone have pics or info would be a big help before I decide to spend the money

I looked into them once. Depending on your bike, the shocks don't fit into the cutouts for the bags. My 1500 wasn't even close.

I have a 2000 vn1500 Classic. I saw bike on YouTube but no way to contact to find out how he did it. The pic without the bags is my bike the other bike is a vn1500 with harley bags. Looks awesome

Looks like a quick release setup. Since you have to drill holes in bags for brackets, setback can be what you want or need.

If you just like the looks of the Harley bags, have you checked out the Tsukayu Patrol bags or the Mutazu HL bags? Just make sure you do some research on them before buying. There are goods and bads to each.

exactly what i wanna do ive been doing some brain storming about all of it i dont its gonna be that hard to do.
Hey has anyone tried this yet? I just picked up a set or Harley hard bags. I see online that there's a conversion kit for soft tails they look like they might fit the vn1500. Still doing som research tho
You got my attention... I've been wanting to put Harley hard bags on my 03 Vulcan 1500 classic but I didn't think they would clear the shocks or the pipes. I have V & H straight shots. I've looked at the other brands on line but they all look a little different, not exactly the look I was hoping for and the size seem smaller. I was hoping for more storage. Plus I like the look of the hard bags with dueleys.

Used stock mounts from my 900 LT. Re-drilled holes to match bracket, filled old ones with silicone. Make sure you use rubber grommets (stock on Harley bags) to attach to bracket. I also put some pipe wrap along the bracket as a damper.

Don't overthink it. You need spacer for the stock saddlebag supports to move them out 1 inch and have to figure a way to hold them against the bottom of the support. Then they can't flop. Lay out where to drill 2 holes and use the saddlebag support bolts at the top
