Handle bar size/years?

So I need to change my bars, the right side got bent a couple of inches. My EN5500A4 is a 93 model. Now everybody tells me that my year model had 7/8 bars. Kawi, eveyone. How ever I had the stock controls, master cylinder all on a 1" bar. I've mic'd the bar with a caliper. Just got a new clamp half to hold the master cylinder and right side mirror on today. Mic'd it, 1". But the Kawi techs and everyone swears it's supposed to have 7/8. Anybody else have a 93 year model and a caliper that they would be willing to check for me? I like the bars I have now, but, not sure now that they are the stocks.

I have an old style Vulcan too (1995) and it is 1". I found out the hard way after I ordered a windshield for a 7/8", then had to order 1" hardware for it to work. I too heard from everyone that it's supposed to be 7/8" but it's not.

To the best of my knowledge, they changed to 1" bars in 91.The 454's all have 7/8 bars. But the triple tree & forks are interchangeable on both the Vulcan & 454's.:)

Thanks guys, I suppose I'll cross my fingers and order a oem bar from Kawi. I picked up a set of pipes, mufflers, and heat shields off a 454 model I'm hoping with work. They are in exceptional shape, been kept indoors. My pipes have been modified to move the mufflers forward a little, presumably to move them in front of larger saddle bags and have no crossover. I'm not sure if they originally had a crossover or not, but the 454 pipes have one so we'll see. Part numbers on the mufflers match up though.
