I am a man on a mission to Ride.
purchased my 2010 Vulcan 900 custom special edition last August 2014. put just over 7000 miles on it so far and that's not bad for Bennington Vermont, where the weather is pretty cool. went to Columbus Ohio a couple weeks ago, back roads out and Highway back. speed limit on Ohio highways is 70 miles an hour which means you're doing about 80 to keep with the flow. Once the bike got over 75 you could feel the extra vibration. after about five minutes I didn't really notice it anymore, although it was still there, and at the end of the trip the bike still ran smooth and didn't seem to mind the abuse. I see discussion of changing the front sprocket or oversizing back tire to reduce rpm's at high speed. would that sprocket change affect all gears or just fifth? I would be a little concerned of bottoming out with oversized back tire when carrying a passenger on a bumpy road. is that a valid concern?
