There's no doubt that the Dakota Digital is a nice looking piece of kit but I can't find one on sale over here in the UK. The price of shipping from the US and the exchange rate would make it hideously expensive.
BTW does anyone know where on the VN900 you can pick up the Tacho Pulse required for most of these indicators. Maybe from the Speed Sensor or from one of the million or so wires sproutiing from the ECU????
I use the GiPro ds-k01. Works when you let out on the clutch. Installation is to an already existing plug behind the right access panel. Only problem is when you shift down through several gears without letting out on the clutch. When you let out on the clutch it will correct itself. It is digital and it works for me.
Help ... I bought the gear indicator Dakota and I need the wiring diagram for my VN 900 Classic (2009); If someone had the color codes for wiring does not make any mistakes. Thank you ... and sorry for my English.
I had an answer of "Dakota", I think I'll be able to mount the indicator. For the wires, there is little difference between Europe and the U.S.. Especially direction indicators
. But the main contacts are the same.
Turns out that the ZX14 shock is the same length and dimensions of the stock 900.
Need to delete a mounting bracket on the 900 that gets in the way.
Shave down the Boss of the ZX14 Shock
Make a lower sleeve for the shock, or Drill out fitting.
Cost of shock $50, and 1 hour...

After some good discussion in another thread, doing the ZX14 shock mod sounded interesting. We have a 1200 mile trip planned this summer and a way to absorb some of the bumps in the road sounds pretty appealing. I bought this shock from a parts recycler on eBay. I plan on doing a total rebuild...
I could use some help when it comes to understanding what belt i can use on my 2012 Classic

I own a Vulcan 900 / 2009 (32,000 km). Until December the bike was in South Africa and the previous owner was using Castrol Actevo semi synthetic 10W40. I'm in Tanzania, I can't find this type of oil here. My question is, I want to change the type of oil and I don't know if is better to...
