My wife's dad left her a 2001 Vulcan 1500 nomad FI. it sat for about 15 years and I've spent the last couple months getting it back in to shape. When she rides it around town though the had tank gets pretty warm, even when the tank is full of gas. Is this normal for this bike? I've asked around and got no good answers.

I know it sits above the engine, so does my Stryker, my Boulevard, my Savage, even my Grom, but none of those tanks get warm to the touch. I was just curious about the 1500 nomad having never owned it ridden one

The motor makes a lot of heat, especially just putn around. I experience it regularly. I bet when fan comes on, she feels the heat and describes it as gas tank is hot. ;) Warm is normal.

Thank you. It was her dad's bike and I've spent thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours getting to look like it did when she used to ride on it with him, and I was concerned something was wrong LOL
