Hey guys well it has finally started getting hot here in Kansas and I starting to smell gas fumes after riding a bit. I checked the fuel cap gasket on my 09 900 classic and noticed that it is extremely cracked up and believe that the heat is causing the gas to vaporize and slightly leak out of the cap. Well I have been looking for the past hour for a part number for the gasket without any luck. Does anyone by chance know where to find the part?

You may have to call a dealer. It looks like Kawi considers it part of the Fuel Cap. They don't list a separate part number.

So I called the kawi dealer in regards to the fuel cap gasket. They told me that you have to buy the whole cap and all, which is 95 dollars! Holy highway robbery!

Yeah that's outrageous. Maybe something you can try before you dump $95 into a new cap is to get some rubber gasket material sheets and cut out a new gasket and use some gasket adhesive to adhere it to your cap. Might work.
