I need to replace the front wheel on my '97 vn800 Classic after an accident. I have read somewhere that a vn1500 front wheel will fit, although I don't know if it is only certain years or models? I understand that the 1500 wheel rim is slightly wider, but I'm not using a fender so that's not an issue. The '97 800 Classic (B2) and the '97 1500 Classic (D2) share the same brake rotor, caliper and axle bolt (matching part numbers). The 1500 hub does have a speedometer drive, which I assume I can remove as I don't want to have to lace my 800 hub to the 1500 rim. If anyone has used a 1500 wheel without a problem or knows if it is an easy swap let me know. I'm having problems finding a decent 'used' 800 wheel, but there are quite a few 1500 wheels available and cheaper! Thanks in advance.

So, nobody knows the answer to this. I am getting desperate. I need to order a wheel but don't want to buy a 1500 wheel if I am not able to fit it to my 800.
