I don't get on here much, but could use a little guidance.

I have an 08 Vulcan 900 Custom, with a factory front wheel and breaks, that I'm looking to replace with a classic, spoked wheel so I can have a fat tire on the front (begging some customizing, etc).

I know manufactures, while they change some things out over the years and restyle other things, they don't always change up the "nuts and bolts" part of it. Things like brake rotors, axle sizes, etc.

My question is, how flexible can I be when looking for a new wheel where I can still use the existing axle, brake rotor (that fits the caliper and placement on the forks, etc)? I've been digging around on ebay and see wheels, but they are for older models, ranging from the 800 to 1500 nomad, etc, but rarely a 900.

Or heck, should I just be looking for some sort of aftermarket, pretty much whatever I want?

My goal is mainly to just do a quick swap.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Aftermarket support for wheels and tires is not almost non existent. As for putting a classic front combo it would be bolt on my only concern would be messing with the trail due to the custom having more rake in the triple trees. From my research The 900 uses the same size bearings as several harley models(I dont remember off the top of my head which ones). So if you wanted to do so machine work you could go that route.
