Hello everyone just get back into riding. Friend found me a 2001 Vulcan 800. It has been a project and is rideable now after going over bike with friend. He noticed the front forks bounce to much. The bike has no wetness around dust covers but has been setting in a garage since 2005. Would I need to rebuild or just replace the oil in the front forks. Thanks in advance. Also if needing rebuild is this something I could do?

After sitting 13 years you will need to replace the fork oil and fork seals. Takes about 1 - 1.5 hrs if you know how to do it. If you don't, then take it to someone who does. The 10w oil is about $30 and the seals about $20. I would guess it would cost about $100 labor for a mechanic to do it. So around $150 all in.
