Hey guys,

I've been wrestling with security on my bike for a bit and trying to determine what the best strategy would be. Any suggestions there would be welcome.

That said, though - the security mechanism I'm most accustomed to is the fork lock. On my bike, however, it feels a bit "gummy" - I'm not able to slot the key in there. I only have one key at the moment (making more shortly) and didn't want to break it off in there, so I left it alone. I did want to ask, though - does anyone have any issues slotting their key into the fork lock? I know on many bikes you need to do a bit of a wiggle to get the lock to turn, but this is the first time I've seen an issue getting it in there.

Is this normal or is my solution (hopefully) WD-40 and hope?

I found my 1997 vn800 had a hard to use fork lock. Key was tight and hard to turn. I sprayed silica spray into it and it freed up. When locking the bike you still need to wiggle the handle bar to centralize the lock in the hole. Also you need to push the tumbler in with the key then turn side ways to lock.
