I have a new Vulcan Voyager 1700 and have now idea where to mount my 3x5 flag on a 3/4" pole? The only options I see are the frame bar under the Luggage box or the right side lower frame bar. Any suggestions?

Chuckster's Customs. He made my hitch as well as my flag mount. He customized his normal hitch to allow me to fly (2) 6" x 9" flags all the time, and made a flag mount that fits in the hitch for the big flags. He designed the flag mount to hold 1 inch emt conduit (my request). I can fly (3) 3x5 flags at 40ish mph with no problems. Obviously I don't fly them either at higher speeds or when the wind is high.

I am also a Patriot Guard Rider and spent a long time analyzing mounts that others have done with an eye toward something that would work on the 1700 (I have a Nomad). The two best options are (1) a trailer hitch mounted holder or (2) buy a luggage rack and make a flat plate with a holder for the pole to bolt to the luggage rack. As you have the Voyager, I would go with a hitch and a holder that fits the hitch as your trunk precludes the luggage rack approach.

Also, please be very careful about getting a strong pole and a strong fastening system. I rode in a KIA funeral escort on the highway last year and saw four American flags hit the ground in 30 miles. I have seen every kind of half - a$%^& mount in the last couple of years. The National Colors deserve better.

I have a trailer hitch on my Vaquero to pull my pull behind motorcycle trailer and also have a flag pole that will mount right to it and then brackets to the back of the bike to hold it upright while flying a 3x5 flag going down the road on PGR and Veteran event rides.

I have a flag mount (somewhere) that I made to slip into the hitch receiver. 6 foot pole attached to it and flag mounts onto it and it does a 3x5 flag no problem, just a simple "T" with a hole in it to bolt the bottom of the pole onto it. I have a 5 ft telescoping light pole (off a patrol scoot, wonder where I got that :D) that I plan to make the same thing out of it some day. I do not recommend going 70mph with a 3x5 flag up however.... I have seen the same set up with a "T" with the top part slightly bent into a "V" to mount two poles onto where the tops are about two feet apart.
