Yesterday I finally took my first trip thats longer than the usual trip to work or riding around town. I don't know if there are any other west virginians reading the forum, but I live in Morgantown and took the trip to my wife's grandparents house out in Kingwood. A good 45 minute trip up Rt. 7. What a blast. Speed limit varies from 25 to 55 along the trip, just about perfect for the stock 900 custom. The bike felt effortless in the sweeping turns and was just a dream. If anyone knows of any good rides in this part of the country, leave the route.

Hello,

I was recently in WVa and I stopped at one of the welcome centers. When I told the lady we were on bikes, she provided me with at least six brochures that related to motorcycling routes and maps. Your governor is a biker. I rode some good roads and had one bad experience by hitting gravel in a turn on a small road just outside Wheeling. There are a lot of great opportunities in your area.

I rode Charles Town to Cumberland today. Not a bad trip, and alot of WV roads are good. I just go out and try to get lost. Was good this time!

Finding Rides

If you're looking for rides, check out these two sites. You're probably familiar with some of the stuff near you, but it's a good starting point. The first one is nice because there are rider reviews, and although they're not posted very frequently, you can occasionally get lucky and find out that they've just put down fresh gravel or something else that would make the ride less enjoyable. Have fun...
