My first full-face helmet arrived in the mail today. It's the AFX FX-90 Freedom. Took it out for a quick spin tonight and I like it so far. My previous helmet was a 3/4 HJC IS-33 and years ago my first helmet was a modular. I'm gonna miss the drop down sun visor of the '33 but unfortunately I dropped it on the ground so now it is compromised.
How high was you when you dropped it? Generally accepted that a drop from something like a bike seat or table top isn't going to compromise the helmet. The manufacturers would have you believe that a good bug strike is enough to require a new helmet!
I never was one to wear a helmet regardless of whether it was half, 3/4 or full face. However, with the purchase of my latest bike, I went against tradition and dropped quite a bit of cash on an Arai Signet Q full face. After wearing it on a few rides I now actually enjoy having it on. Not sure whether I'm just thinking more about my safety or because I'm on an insane bike, (or both) but at this point wearing it feels right as rain.
I recently laid my Triumph Rocket III down and learned several valuable lessons.

So I bought a 900 Classic and now I have a new girlfriend, she wants a ride on the back of the Vulcan.
I've never ridden 2up before, anything I know regarding safety before she climbs on?
The first thing that most people instinctively do in an accident is toss their hands forward. If the limbs are not protected, asphalt instantly inflicts irreparable damage to them. Every day we use our hands in our affairs, so why not protect them by protecting them with motorcycle gloves? If...
Hello fellow riders!
This fall I finally moved up to a full-sized Vulcan S from the little bikes (160, 125) I had been riding before. Since it was too late to get into one of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation courses here, I took the "Street Strategies eCourse" online. (I'll get to the full...
So I'm looking for an app or process that works. I eventually want to be able to have a specific route i've created be navigated with voice turn-by turn street name. Oh and be able to use Offline navigation, since in many areas i don't have cellular service.
I have been creating my routes on...
