Living in the frozen north ain't for the faint of heart.... several feet of snow, howling wind, temps where Fahrenheit and Celsius touch......
But yesterday...., yesterday we reached double digits in degrees C, so about 50F.... RIDING WEATHER! So far today, we have only just cleared frost, but there is hope now and I am charging the batteries for my bikes as I type lol.. In another Forum I had lamented that I had not pulled a trigger on any boom stick in over 100 days, waaaay to cold for an olde guy. Yesterday, jacketed hollowpoints were flying! Both wrists are sore and my "sight eye" is still jiggling from the Lapua Mag concussion BUT, I definitely feel that spring is finally here:devil2: Once the batteries are topped up, heading out the the storage unit to drop them in and fire the bikes to circulate some oil..... Still a little icy in spots to safely ride but you gotta be ready and grab every day you can here..:grin2:

Yes here in the Ottawa, Ontario are we have not yet hit any double digits. Still -15 C at night maybe +2 today. There have been a few days of maybe +5 or 6 which if i could get out of my frozen lane way, I would have gone out. I just need about 6 inches thick of ice in my lane way to melt....

Yup, getting the real itch here. Generally, the roads are pretty clear of salt and sand. About the only thing really stopping me is the moat that has formed between the garage and street.

Got up to 70F here today, global warming at its finest.... Snow melting, water running, 04 V2K blazing down the highway..... Once the lifters quit ticking and it seemed to have oil overywhere it is supposed to be I took the big bike for a run, in March, in northwestern Canada..... You won't be able to wipe the smile off my face with a sledgehammer for DAYS! Wife just came in and gave me "the look" but after 43 years I think I am immune to the effects:devil2:

Trust me, you guys up north don't own the deep freeze. We're just now hitting the 50's here in Nebraska. Plus we just had a storm of the century and flooding we aren't done with yet.

But...riding weather is upon us. The wife takes great delight every morning as I sip coffee and scour the weather predictions, proclaiming riding season is nigh upon us!

Buffy is ready to go! I would take her out for a short ride today except that it's the wifes Birthday and...well, you know.

Man! I love riding!

Yeah, most of my favorite 2-lane m/c roads are going to be either closed for construction, or all broken-up and buckled, for awhile. So just getting decent temps will give me a chance to see which roads in NE or IA are worthy. Might be fun, figuring that out!

Our version of just over 50F here today, crystal clear skies and not a breath of wind..... and acres and acres of brand new mud lol... Only two seasons here usually "Wet" and "Cold and wet" but this week has been crazy great temperatures. Still gotta be careful on the pavement, lots of fine sand and salt residue just waiting for an unsuspecting V2K owner to crack a throttle just that hair too much and break traction and gription on a corner (gription for the front tire) :devil2: Still risky in the mountains so for the next little bit I'm just gonna do "loser laps" on the county roads and stay on the east side of the big bumps in the Rockies lol. Wifey is still miffed that I put the V2K in the garage, but I did move my beer fridge and tool box, put my lift and table saw in my toy trailer..... Just so the Queen can rocket out of the garage like Adam West used to do in the Batmobile:grin2:

Yep here in southern Idaho it’s supposed to be 60 today! I’m headed out for a bit after work! So needless to say the clock at work has slowed tremendously.... Ride Safe

Well, up here in Ottawa, Canada region, yesterday hit about 6 Celcius. So i finally got my new Voyager 1700 out for a 120km ride. So now she has 124km on her :)

Man, is she smooth. And good wind protection on hands. Could not really give her since I still have to break her in, and the roads still have some sand here and there so have to be extra cautious.

I could tell though with Ivan's ECU program and V&H pipes it has some pick up. At 2100 RPM cruising at 100 KPH was nice and smooth.

The brakes though i thought would be a lot more grab compared to my single front disk V star 950 i had. I know it is a heavy bike....

Going to try and get out again today. +7 Celcius supposed to reach. So might go for 200km ride.

I also thought it might drag boards more than my V star 950, but i don't think it will. Perhaps because i set rear air at 15 psi and selected 3 on damper?

So 70 here on Monday, 4/8, all the snow was melted and looking great, then -
today about 6 inches of global warming on the ground,
more on the way,
40-50 mph winds,
ice pellets,
just about any kind of precipitation you can think of!

Got back from Mexico on Apr 18. SNOW, not a little either..... Since I returned, we have received a foot of snow on two separate occasions and it is snowing as I type this. Not cold, mind you-just a bit under freezing temp, but wet heavy snow. Time to move back to Texas.....:devil2:

Picked up my new to me 1600 Nomad on Thursday and it warmed up to a balmy 14C here in the Maritimes yesterday so I got about 250k on her. Wow, what a difference from my VStar 1100! So smooth and those V&H pipes sound oh so sweet. A little cooler today but after changing the oil and fixing that damn buzzing speedo I still got some riding in. Supposed to be even warmer tomorrow and Monday but of course I'll be at work. Oh well, it's slowly coming...
