Hey guys, I'll be swapping my stock pipes for a set of V&H slashcuts on my classic LT. Anyone know the torque spec for the head nuts?

snug tight, not gut wrenching tight, too much torque and it might snap off the stud, just hand tighten the stud nuts then using the socket like your putting the top of the pickle jar back on, i think 15 ft-lbs torque, which is not a lot.

he is right... it is almost certainly 15 ft lbs or mite less.

snug em up cold when you first put it on to 15... then come back later after it cools off after a good long ride that really heats the engine up..... and recheck they are at 15. then dont worry about it anymore.

All are close. Per the service manual the Exhaust Pipe Holder Nuts (cap nuts) are torqued at 17N-m, or 12ftlbs.
