So after all that I've read here, I'm absolutely doing Ivan's upgrade. My 2015 VV is brand new, just coming up on 1000kms. My question: should I wait until after its first service (recommended at 1000kms) to do the ECU? Or does it matter? My bike has some "hesitation" issues, which sounds like the re-flash will fix any way. But should I see what dealer can do under warranty first?

If this were me.
Because dealerships treat add-ons & mods differently, I would wait until after the first service. That is, if you are going to take it in for the first service.
They probably won't notice the upgrade on the ECU unless they put their analyzer on it to check on a problem.
So, if you get the upgrade now I'm sure you won't even have the hesitation or any fuel related problem to rell them.

There are other factors to consider also.
Like are you planning to upgrade the exhaust some time soon?
If you are, then I would wait on the flash until after that because then you could tell Ivan what your bike has had done to it and he would adjust for it.

Good point davidsheek. I am planning on doing VH slip ons in the near future. I was actually going to ask if Ivans reflash was the same for stock or VH. Probably a question for the man himself

All this flash stuff makes me wonder how the flash compares to the PCV that folks have done. David, I know you have a PCV because I see you sharing your mapping all time on the list. Any idea how it compares to the flash? Who has done the flash who previously had a PCV set up? How do they compare?

BTW, I did the flash in June. I love it. My question is out of curiosity. Main issue is a bit of jumpiness, as the response is so strong. Might be because I also have the throttle mod, I dunno. I do know the power and response is WAY up, even with my stock pipes and air.

Oh, sorry about injecting a question in the middle of a legitimate thread. My enthusiasm got the best of me. Editors should feel free to delete.

Ivan will want to talk to you anyway, before you send him your ECU. But the reflash is the same whatever air / pipe setup you're running. Because of my distance, our conversations were through email and PM over on the VBA forums, but he prefers his US customers to call him.

Your hesitation issues are a common complaint from owners of the more recent 1700's with O2 sensors. They seem to serve very little useful purpose (except maybe as a sop to emissions legislators?), and after the re-flash you can simply disconnect it.

No I sure don't. But I bet once you have the right map they would be very close.
My bike runs very well now., especially since after I got a new battery. Previous battery was only 2 years old but would loose some of its charge if not ran for say 5 days. I thought it was running ok if I was going somewhere everyday or every other day.
Finely I got tired of the discharge after 4/5 days and bought a new battery. WOW what a difference. Not only does it start in 1/2 the cranking time as before but there has been "O" popping (so far) and it just excellerates better.
