Just as a disclaimer, I'm in no way compensated for this initial write up/review, just an FYI for anyone who's curious. I ordered and installed (myself) the Delkevic 16 inch stainless steel slash cut exhaust Friday. There are plenty of videos on how to remove the stock exhaust and install various Delkevic (and other brands) exhaust systems, so I won't get into that here.
The stock exhaust seemed to weigh between 20-25 pounds, with the total shipping weight on UPS's shipping paper listed the new exhaust in its packaging at 12 pounds. Makes for a fairly significant weight savings. The stock exhaust was very simple to remove, as my bike only had 5600 miles on it.
Helpful hints: spray WD-40 on the header nuts to soak overnight, to ensure easy loosening. Also, disconnect the wiring harness for the O2 sensor from under the cover before removing the exhaust, as to minimize damaging the sensor/wiring. Install the O2 sensor to the new downpipes before installing onto motorcycle.
The new exhaust came with new crush ring gaskets and sealer. I was not able to remove the old gaskets from the exhaust ports, so I just left them, without using the new ones. I did use the gasket sealer around the exhaust ports though. Thankfully, for now, at least there were no leaks at the new header pipes. I sprayed a little bit of dish detergent/water mix to the header pipes before starting the bike up, to check for any bubbling indicating an exhaust leak (no bubbles). The instructions weren't very detailed, but the process was still easy to figure out. I'm far from mechanically inclined, but taking my time, I still had the new exhaust installed fairly quickly, with no check engine light/warning indicators of any kind.
The exhaust sounds great, with a deep rumble, loud enough without being obnoxious (baffle left in place). Other than the exhaust, the bike is stock; no booster plug, power commander, or computer flashing done. I haven't noticed any backfire or excessive popping from the exhaust upon deceleration. I have noticed the new exhaust has made engine braking less noticable, and the throttle less twitchy during low speed maneuvering. There does seem to be a little less torque/low end pull at lower gears and RPM's, but a bit more top end power at higher speeds. I have only put about 50 miles on the bike since installation, but so far, I'm happy with the product and results. I'll be curious to see what effects it has on gas mileage. Hopefully someone on the forums finds this review interesting/informative. Be safe out there!
