No, this will not harm your motor. To make it breath better, your trying to improve exhaust flow by removing restrictions, thus removing back pressure. The only thing you need to be aware of is if you modify your intake and exhaust, you'll need to add an aftermarket fuel processor to adjust your fuel so your not running to lean, which can be bad. Just modifying exhaust by itself, you shouldn't need a fuel processor.

In short, no your motor will be fine. Your hearing on the other hand.... ( mines debaffled and rather loud for my tastes).

The backpressure thing is a misconception. Backpressure is bad, period. What happens with too large of an exhaust pipe is actually a loss in exhaust gas velocity. This causes some fun thermodynamics and results in an INCREASE in backpressure! That's why you hear about some very "open" exhausts losing power. I can go into more detail if you want. But I'd want to verify my exact facts, ( it's been awhile since I actually took those courses in college)
