Got a short ride in today. Was great till I got home and the cedar pollen decided to attack me.

All you would have to do is cut down 4 or 5 of those trees along the ride and you could build a table better then anything you could buy.
Great ride, happy times.

That actually is an option. I'm pretty decent at rough carpentry, deck, etc, but hesitant on trying to build something for inside. It was a nice ride for us. This being retired and able to go for a ride at anytime is really nice.

Got some wind therapy today.

Here's the videos of today's ride. The first video is a layed back enjoy the ride on the way to Garner Park.

When I started heading home decided to ride up to one of the legs of The Twisted Sisters. This video is one of the more technical sections. First part of this video is helmet cam, second part is from bike cam.

I rode up to Canyon to deliver a couple of laptops/tablets to my son in college. (One of his professors decided at the last minute to require one to take tests in class.) It was a cool 43 deg early on but warmed up to 56 deg by the time I got back.

In Olton there is a supposedly good barbecue place that has been closed every other time that I have been through. They were open today so I got some to take home and eat.

It was a good ride of about 245 miles.

Got a short ride in today. @CarGuy and a group of friends was supposed to ride over for the Bandera Mardi Gras, 1.5 hour ride, but unfortunately sub freezing weather made it a questionable journey. I headed into Bandera, 10 miles for me, and had a great short ride.

Yeah, the group of 11 I was supposed to lead to Bandera were dropping out like flies! I was ready with my warm and toasty heated gear but the rest of them weren't. The shame is that it turned out to be a gorgeous, though cool day with highs in the 50's and not a cloud in sight. The bad, and embarrassing part was that I forgot to message Les to let him know I wasn't coming. Totally my bad! He graciously forgave me when I realized it and called him at 5:30PM!

Morning y'all. My concern yesterday was something had happened to the group riding in, once @CarGuy called me and explained what had happened all was good.

A brisk 25 degrees going to 50 today. Nothing major on the need to do list. I'm trying to figure out where the fox is heading to. Every night around 9 to 10 pm he's heading left to right and in the morning heading the opposite direction. I would say he's going down to the lake, but no water there right now. Maybe lots of mice to eat in the now empty lake bed.

Hopefully everyone has a "Super" Sunday.

Got a short ride in today. Carla's debit card was compromised, 🤬 , the other day and needed a new one. She was told it would be 7 to 10 days if mailed or we could go into San Antonio and get it immediately. A few minutes later I see her walking into living room with helmet in hand shouting "let's go". We took a scenic route on the way there and more direct way home, 120 miles total. Was a little windy but temps were great.

I got out this weekend to ride to Big Ray’s BBQ in Allen, TX, for a RTE (Ride To Eat) with other like minded Long Distance riders. My trip is only about 750 miles round trip. The rider that rode the farthest to the event rode about 2,900 miles. (It was a a circuitous route.) Pics by the unofficial photographer Richard Swim: Defective Gene Pool RTE 2023 Hidalgo and I are prominent in a few of them.

Hidalgo got much better fuel economy this trip as well. Carb work, new spark plugs, and cleaning debris out of the mufflers, and a tailwind helped to improve fuel economy from 35 mpg to 40 mpg.

This place is a regular rest break on this stretch of road.

Edit: Friday I had a tailwind of about 9mph from the SW and I was going east. Saturday I was going west towards a 23 mph SW wind and fuel economy suffered greatly. It was down to 33mpg but Hidalgo pushed against it valiantly.

After breakfast this morning Carla and I were sitting there trying to decide which task needed to be done today. We kept looking out the window at a sunny, 80 degree day and both concluded it was just to nice not to go for a ride. So we headed out to ride around the Twisted Sisters area. We normally don't ride that area on weekends as too many "want to be" racers are out there. Luckily for us there were actually not many bikes out, but a lot of car clubs which are actually worst because they have a hard time staying in their lane. We road for a while, stopped and got some ice cream, stopped one other time before getting dinner on way home. The video below has the Relive video at the beginning then some of my helmet cam video. I shot a lot of video from the bike cam, but sun washed out a lot of it. The helmet camera had less sun washout so I used that. Was definitely a great day to ride.

A few pictures. Seems like we eat alot.

Got out there on a "leg stretcher" today.

I put on 169 miles, according to the speedo. 3 hours, 45 minutes, including gas and rest stop. About 45 of it was country roads each way, and about 25 was mountain interstate each way, 29 miles around the city. The 900 didn't like the mountains in 5th at 80, I had to downshift to 4th a few times, to maintain speed. I'm still happy with the 900!

Stopped at the rest stop on I25 south in La Joya, got a chance to stretch my legs and snap a shot of my bike 'in the wild.' I'm working on further and longer rides, comfortably. As it gets warmer, I'll be able to go north and east, where there are twisty mountain roads. A "dash cam" is in my near future!

Had a good ride today with a friend. He rides a Harley Fat Bob.

Met my friend in Milton WV and rode north to Rt 2 and then followed that to Pt. Pleasant. From there we went through Ripley over to Spencer.

From there we rode south on 119 to Clendenin where we had dinner.

From there we headed south where we parted ways as he headed towards Rand and I went back to Kentucky.

It was 35 degrees when I left home. As you can see, I was bundled up.

I shot this video Saturday morning. I've been having issues with my mic so I was experimenting with the new one. I think i got the bugs worked out. Still a little wind noise but forgot to put on my chin curtain.
