It doesn't look like it from your Relive video, but did you spend time in the park? They have a great visitor center that sits next to the old hangers with lots of LBJ memorabilia including the plane he would travel in. Also you can ride around the ranch and landing strip. Pretty interesting actually. BTW, you were close enough I could have met you for lunch!

We spent about two hours there. It started to get crowded with noisy kids so we left. Going back during week when school is still in. Don't get me wrong, love kids, just not misbehaving ones. I like history and was interesting. It was a last minute ride of I would have called you.

Well I do not have a relive or any pictures but. I went riding with my son-in-law. He is a new rider so we did some time in a vacant parking lot and then did a few back roads, about 2 hours of riding. He did well and is good at listing to instructions. I have to praise the bluetooth comms of our helmets for making it an easy and very productive ride.

I finally (test) mounted my dash cam to my VN900 and test road yesterday, took Route 66/333 up to Tijeras, a small mountain town a few minutes east of Albuquerque. From there, I made a right (southbound) on New Mexico 337, a mountain road that can also be accessed from I-40. Took a lazy stroll up the mountain road, because there was a truck hauling an RV in front of me. When I road to Cedro and turned around. After traffic was clear, and I had a window of no traffic for around a minute, I pulled out. The return trip was a lot more fun. All said, it was a great ride!

I did wind up catching a little rain, towards the end of my ride, about 50 drops hit my wind screen.

EDIT: Video of my ride. There is no audio, the dash cam came out of my old Jeep, I streamed Apple Music in my Jeep and disabled audio on my dash cams because it is illegal to record streaming services. I'm going to turn the audio back on, it's just going to be wind and pipes.

Which one did you go with? How is the video part.
I went with one of my dash cameras that I had laying around. It's a "Vava" Car dash cam. They were on clearance a year or two ago at Big 5 Sporting Goods. Right now I'm running it off a battery pack. Since it works well, I'm going to put a dual USB port on my bike, wire it in with a relay tripped off my headlight. I'll still use the battery pack for clean power, but I'll use the USB port to keep the battery pack charged.

The video is good, it's kinda' shaky, but I think that was the 40+ MPH sustained winds we had, and the 60+ MPH gusts. I am stitching the video together and rendering it right now, when it's done, I'll upload it to YouTube, and update my post with a link.

Here's the Wife with her bike.

Pensacola, Florida - last week. This is the original "UFO House". I first spied this place in 1977, and it's weathered all of the hurricanes since then - and it still standing.

It was cold here, so we put 'em on a trailer and spent a few days on the Gulf Coast.

LOL - should have been paying more attention, because it was the start of "spring break" and there were a lot of young people there. They appeared to be having the time of their life. We did manage to find some virtually deserted beach roads, though.

Also managed to visit the infamous Flora-Bama Bar. This place was a little dive bar back in the 70's when I first went there - and it was out in the middle of nowhere along the beach. It's now a three-story wonder with at least half a dozen bars. They had live entertainment in three of those bars on the day that we were there.

Had a great ride today with members on another forum that rode in from Houston to Bandera for the Rally. They asked if I would show them the Twisted Sisters. Sure, no problem. Then he said a few more of his friends from out of Dallas area wanted to join, then a couple more joined. We ended up with 9 bikes total. Most were not familiar with area at all and was impressed with ride.

Getting group together. Never played Road Caption for a larger group like this. Didn't lose anyone and no one wrecked, so good day for a group of riders that had never ridden together.

I rode solo today because the weather was beautiful. I attempted to make some 4k 360 videos but it is taking forever to process on YouTube. There is a learning curve when using any new software so here are some pics from my phone of today’s ride. I spoke with the gentleman that owned the Shelby Cobra. He built it from wrecked parts and the motor was salvaged from a wreck too.

I grew up with someone who’s mother was a local professor at Kennesaw College (now University). She is an anthropologist and helped design and refurbish the State Historical site of New Echota (the Cherokee Nation’s Capital city). Maybe one of these days I will ride there and take a few pictures. His mother rebuilt some of the log cabins that are used as a display of how the Cherokee lived before they were forced out West.

Yesterday I battled the Texas west wind to ride up through the panhandle area visiting Tour Stops for the MC Grand Tour of Texas. It has been a few weeks since Hidalgo and I got out to ride so I was getting a bit stir-crazy had to ride. Only a snowstorm would have kept me from going. :)

Anyway, here are the pics I submitted:

Here is my Spotwalla tracking: Trip: Panhandle 03-25-23
Motorcycle Grand Tour of Texas – A great tour for folks that love Texas and love to ride.

Weather report from that day:

I also got to visit with Daniel on the way back home.

And lastly, Hidalgo started running badly on the way south from Borger. She would only run on one cylinder at idle speeds. Once the throttle was opened she ran normally. It looks like during the few weeks of sitting the tiny idle jet on the left carb got plugged. So I'm going to pull the bowl and clean the jet.

Edit 03-27-23: Cleaning the pilot jet seems to have fixed the idling issue.
