Cylinder Cover nut thread broken - Advise is needed (Photo included)

Hi everyone,

Today, after getting done with the valve clearance adjustment, I made a terrible mistake and tried to install the cover without using a torque wrench. The result? One of the three nut threads inside got broken. Any idea how to fix it? Also, the two others are fine and tight, would there be any problem if I drive the bike without the third bolt in place? Does the cover have any stress whatsoever?

Any comments are welcome. The photo, although not originally from my bike, shows what exactly has been broken.

Thanks in advance.

Anyone? All I want to know is whether driving the bike with only two bolts holding the cylinder cover is possible without damaging anything else?

The worst thing I would expect to see would be a minor leak. But like Archie said a helicoil should solve the issue. you might even back it out clean with an extractor. lotsa luck

Thank you very much to both of you!
I will keep riding the bike for now as it is. If it holds up, and there are no leaks, I will try to fix it next time I adjust the valves using your recommended method.
