I just purchased a used 2008 Vulcan 1600 nomad with only 14,000 miles knowing it had a bad cylinder head. The previous owner was meticulous in its care and was very upset when he went in for service and found his oil to be cloudy. Dealership thought it was head gasket but turns out it was the decompression lever broke and cracked the cylinder head. What would cause such a thing? I’m going to try to source a new head and do the repair myself. The local dealership wants $3000 to do the repair! Anyways it’s a beautiful bike and I am hoping it won’t turn out to be a can of worms.
